2020
This was obvious the year of COVID but that doesn't mean we didn't (safely) continue traveling. Before the pandemic really hit in Thailand, we spent time in Yangon, Myanmar, and Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and a weekend trip back to Chiang Mai. Read the article I wrote about an abandoned amusement park in Yangon.
At the end of last year, Halie was hired for a clinic in Ramstein, Germany. So just as the initial lockdown was easing up in Bangkok, she flew off with our dog to Germany. I was unable to come initially (due to COVID restrictions) but followed them about a month later.
Now in Germany, we spent our time seeing the villages and castles surrounding Ramstein. We also took some road and train trips to other parts of Germany: Frankfurt, Rothenburg, Nuremberg, Neuleiningen, Heidelberg, Mannheim, and Trier.
One day, we realized we could easily drive down the highway and be in Metz, France, for lunch. So we did just that, spending the day eating and walking around. Long live the EU.
