2019

Even to this day, I consider 2019 as one of the best (and most impressive years) of our traveling. I'm still blown away with all we got to see.

It began in India in February: New Delhi, Agra for the Taj Mahal, and Bengaluru for another of Halie's conferences. We of course continued our traveling of Thailand: Krabi, Kao Yao Yai, (and back to) Phuket.

The spring saw us flying to New Zealand, again meeting my parents. I drove us all over the north island, making sure no rock was left unturned (we did not turn over any rocks). Halie and I also took a weekend trip to Vietnam again, this time seeing Hanoi for the first time. I've written a few articles about Hanoi: Top Foods to Try in Hanoi, 10 Things You Must Do in Hanoi, and Eating Pho in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The summer got serious. First to Australia to meet Halie's parents, spending time in Sydney and Brisbane. Next, to Greece for my family vacation. We stayed in Athens and Santorini, with a quick trip to Delphi.

Later that summer, a friend visited us in Thailand before jumping on another plane to the Maldives. After that, one more quick weekend trip before Halie's school year started, this time to Taipei, Taiwan, and the surrounding areas.

In the fall, we again went to Penang, Malaysia. This time for another of Halie's conferences. October was spent exploring China for the first time: Chengdu for the hot pot and pandas and Beijing for the hutongs, history, and Great Wall. Read a Q&A I wrote, interviewing the co-founder of Lost Plate, providing food tours in China.

Who knew we would be living in China in just four years!?
