2018

This year saw us continue to explore all the corners of Thailand: Chiang Rai, Phuket, Nakhon Ratchasima, (back to) Chiang Mai, Chanthaburi. Read an article written about Tony, a chef giving cooking lessons in Phuket. We also had a lovely long weekend in Luang Prabang, Laos. Another weekend in Hong Kong for one of Halie's conferences. 

Our next long trip was to Japan. We flew into Tokyo and checked out some surrounding areas: Matsumoto and Yamanochi, Nagano, before heading back to Tokyo and spending a week seeing everything. Read an article I co-authored about Nabemono, Japenese-style hot pot.

A friend visited in the summer so we flew back to Ho Chi Minh City before taking a prop-plane to Siem Reap, Cambodia. 

We took some time to see more of Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Cameron Highlands. Then another quick weekend trip, this time to Singapore. 

In the fall we met my parents in Germany, checking out Munich and Berlin. Who knew that in two years, we would be living in this country!
