2010-2011

We jump ahead a few years to college graduation. First, to celebrate, a friend and I did a six-week road trip around the USA: Kansas, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Seattle, California, back to Texas. Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Virgina, back again. 

Later that summer, my mom's work sent her to Prague, Czechia, so she took the whole family. We spent nine days in Prague, exploring the city and surrounding areas with a day trip to Vienna, Austria. This trip begins my love of feeling like an outsider in a new city, a new language, and a new culture. 

A few months later, my future wife and I, and our mothers, flew to New York City. I had been there when I was much younger but this was Halie and her mom's first time. Soon after, my mom's work sent her to the Los Angeles area so we again made it into a family trip. 

The year 2011 was fairly uneventful in regards to travel. Halie and I had a weekend away in New Orleans. Some time later we met her aunt and uncle in Florida for Disney World.
